Our story

From açaí seed to artisan craft

The açaí palm gives the Amazon its deep-purple berry — and, after the fruit is pressed, its dense, smooth seeds. Semente works with Brazilian artisans who clean, dry, cut and polish these seeds by hand, then string them into bracelets. Each piece carries the natural brown-black shine of the seed and the mark of the hands that made it. It is eco fashion with a story — a renewable material, an Indigenous craft tradition, and a piece you can wear every day.

How it's made

Açaí seeds are collected after the fruit is pressed, then cleaned, dried and cut by hand. They are polished to a smooth shine, sometimes carved with a small pattern, and strung on a strong elastic cord. Each bracelet is finished by an artisan.

How to use it

Wear a single bracelet for an understated look, or stack a few for more colour and texture. Keep them dry and store them gently; the polished seeds wipe clean with a soft cloth.

Good to know

Are they durable?

Yes. The polished seeds are hard and long-wearing. Keep them dry and store them gently, and they will keep their shine for years.

How do I care for them?

Keep them dry and away from harsh chemicals. Wipe them with a soft cloth to keep the polish, and store them in the pouch or a jewellery box when not worn.

Is it a medical or health product?

No. It is a bracelet made from plant seeds. It is not a medicine and not intended to address any condition — it is simply an ornament to wear.

Why açaí seeds?

Açaí seeds are dense, smooth and renewable — a beautiful natural material. Using them gives a second life to a by-product of the açaí harvest, which fits an eco-fashion ethos.

What are the bracelets made from?

They are strung from the seeds of the açaí palm, collected after the fruit is pressed. The seeds are cleaned, dried, cut and polished by hand, then strung by artisans in Brazil.
